Author Geoffrey Iley has been writing since childhood ─ for school and university magazines, for club and technical journals, for press releases and for company reports. An avid reader and a compulsive writer, he has travelled widely, gathering material and experiences to stimulate his storytelling. Over the years he has developed a special love for Mallorca, the setting for much of the action in this unforgettable drama.
"When I was still quite young, says Geoffrey, I had the great good fortune to work for a delightful boss who was also a brilliant wordsmith. He believed passionately that work should be fun. My mentor taught me that even business letters ought to be creative and entertaining."
That is when he caught the writing bug in earnest, but only began producing fiction after he retired. Since then he has written his Mallorca-based novel Navegator, almost a hundred short stories and his acclaimed memoir, 'A Schoolboy's Wartime Letters'. He is no stranger to public speaking either, delivering talks on glass, cars and, of course, writing. He is also the only British author to have had the honour of addressing the English Faculty at the Universitat de les Illes Balears in Palma, Mallorca.
While Geoffrey is hugely enjoying his ongoing partnership with Producer/Director/Scriptwriter Tony Klinger, he has no intention of resting on his laurels.
